Mold

Molds are ubiquitous, and mold spores are a common component of household and workplace dust. In large amounts they can be a health hazard to humans, potentially causing allergic reactions and respiratory problems. Some molds produce mycotoxins that can pose serious health risks to humans and animals. “Toxic Mold” refers to molds that produce mycotoxins (such as stachybotrys chartarum or "black mold”). Exposure to high levels of mycotoxins can lead to neurological problems and death.

Prolonged daily exposure is a serious health threat. Symptoms of mold exposure may include: nasal and sinus congestion, runny nose, eye irritation, itchy and red watery eyes, respiratory problems (including wheezing, shortness of breath, cough and chest tightness), throat irritation, skin irritation, rashes and headaches.

Identifying the genesis of mold spores, their risk to health conditions (and corresponding levels) is paramount in the process. If you are purchasing property that is suspected of having mold, mold testing is the most effective way to confirm its existence and develop a protocol for mold remediation

Mold Surveys And Removal

Mold Testing And Air Sampling

A member of the American Industrial Hygienist Association AIHA employs several non-invasive mold testing methods to detect the presence and levels of mold spores. Surface samples are used to identify the exact fungus or fungi that may be present. Samples are sent to an accredited lab for processing. Air sampling will identify the actual spore and its level in a specific room. FEG’s experts guarantee detailed samples from hard to reach areas such as behind air ducts, behind sheet rock etc.

Mold Removal Inspections And Estimates

FEG’s certified mold inspectors will provide free estimates for mold removal and remediation. Our inspectors use state of the art instrumentation and techniques to conclusively test for mold and moisture.

Insurance Billing

FEG works intimately with your insurance company to ensure coverage for property when applicable. You may be responsible for the deductible. We will assist you in reviewing your policy and determine what is covered for mold removal and water damage.

Mold Removal And Remediation

FEG offers a variety of techniques to detect and remove mold from both the exterior and interior surfaces of walls, ceilings, carpets and floors. We design customized and safe techniques for mold and water damage repair. Experts outfit you with long term solutions preventing further contamination.

On Site Process

I. Mold Sanitization
FEG disinfects with microban , while using HEPA filters. We begin the process by sealing off all rooms to prevent mold spreading. Cryogenic technology with dry ice is then implemented to freeze all mold spores for safe removal.

II. Air Scrubbing
Mold spores and additional contaminants are further removed from the air with HEPA air scrubbers. Certified mold remediators properly seal a contamination zone to maintain negative air pressure required for mold remediation.

III. Decontamination And Sanitizing
While mold and bacteria are major health concerns, FEG will help you identify these contaminants in order to implement the best solution for home or office decontamination and sanitizing.
